30 Hour Famine Kickoff Today! |

The time is here. Today at 1:00pm we start fasting for our 30 Hour Famine. We will be meeting at our church after school and heading out to Southern Alberta Bible Camp for the weekend for a time of fasting, fun and good times. It is with a sort of grateful sadness that I enjoy my coffee this morning. I know that this will be the last morning for a couple of days that I get to drink coffee as the sun rises. I think I know how the disciples felt at the last supper. . . just kidding. They didn't realise what was going on, and going without coffee is a very sobering reality. ~sigh God will give me strength!!

We did our second "Random Acts of Kindness" night last Tuesday, and while we didn't go around town and help out people, we did take time to do something nice for our parents. Not only that, we signed a contract to perform and document some kind acts throught the coming week. Take a look at our gallery pictures of this encouraging night.
I believe it was a good time, and we had quite a few kids out to this event. Our Savior did many, many acts of kindness, and we are trying to do a couple.

Sunday Fundraiser Results |

This past Sunday we had a fundraiser at our church for the Youth Group fund and especially the 30 Hour Famine that we are doing at the end of the month. First, I'd like to thank all the people who came out and supported the event financially. We had a great time as the youth served dinner and refreshments. I'd also like to thank all the youth that made it out. You guys did a great job and helped us to raise over $560!! Praise the Lord!
Beside the money that was raised for the youth fund, we were also collecting individual sponsorship for the 30 Hour Famine. I'm guessing that overall, we raised more that $1000 for this event. Sweet stuff.

Well, instead of having a "Clue Car Rally" as we had planned, we actually went and got spontaneous and pulled our first ever "Sign Me Up" event. Never heard of it before? Neither did I until I made it up. We split our group into two teams and went around with digital cameras and took pictures of us in front of signs around town. I hadn't realized just how many signs there were. Team "Ben" took over 100 pictures in 50 minutes, and Team "Daniel" managed a close second with 57 pictures. . . okay so it wasn't that close.

 It was a good time, but was a bit sad to see one of our stand-in helpers, Daniel, as this was his last youth group activity as he is moving to Calgary.
