This is one of the best clean jokes I've seen in a while! Jesus and Satan were having an on-going argument about who was better on the computer. They had been going at it for days, and frankly God was tired of hearing all the bickering. Finally fed up, God said, 'THAT'S IT! I have had enough. I am going to set up a test that will run for two hours, and from those results, I will judge who does the better job.' So Satan and Jesus sat down at the keyboards and typed away. They moused. They faxed. They e-mailed. They e-mailed with attachments. They downloaded. They did spreadsheets! They wrote reports. They created labels and cards. They created charts and graphs. They did some genealogy reports They did e very job known to man. Jesus worked with heavenly efficiency and Satan was faster than hell. Then, ten minutes before their time was up, lightning suddenly flashed across the sky, thunder rolled, rain poured, and, of course, the power went off. Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known in the underworld. Jesus just sighed. Finally the electricity came back on, and each of them restarted their computers. Satan started searching frantically, screaming: 'It's gone! It's all GONE! 'I lost everything when the power went out!' Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files from the past two hours of work. Satan observed this and became irate. 'Wait!' he screamed. 'That's not fair! He cheated! How come he has all his work and I don't have any?' God just shrugged and said, JESUS SAVES!!! |

1 Chronicles 21:7-12 God was very displeased with the census, and he punished Israel for it. 8 Then David said to God, “I have sinned greatly by taking this census. Please forgive my guilt for doing this foolish thing.” 9 Then the Lord spoke to Gad, David’s seer. This was the message: 10 “Go and say to David, ‘This is what the Lord says: I will give you three choices. Choose one of these punishments, and I will inflict it on you.’” 11 So Gad came to David and said, “These are the choices the Lord has given you. 12 You may choose three years of famine, three months of destruction by the sword of your enemies, or three days of severe plague as the angel of the Lord brings devastation throughout the land of Israel. Decide what answer I should give the Lord who sent me.” Life is filled with many choices to choose from. The choice to go to school or not, a choice to work or not, even choices what to watch on TV, or who you’re going to hanging out with, games that you play, the list is endless! But with every choice that we make was it the right choice? Dose our choices make God happy? Bad choices come with punishment and consequences at times, most often for e.g. You skip school, you don't finish or even start your homework, the outcome you get is a bad mark for assignments. Good choices sometimes come with a reward or a good feeling, like getting to school...on time, doing and finishing your homework that will help you do well on exams. 1 Chronicles 21:7-8 explains that David had done a census, (which is like a survey to gather info of or about population in a town, city country etc.) but God was not very happy with the census that was taken. David had realised he felt really bad about that of what he had done and owns up for his mistake, asking for forgiveness. Verses 9 and so on says God then tells Gad his seer, to tell David he will get 3 choices of punishment to choose from to be punished for his actions. Like David we are the same way, we are human and we sometimes make bad choices that we end up feeling bad and horrible about. This past summer I made a bad choice on something that I should have but didn't find out enough about. It was the weekend and thought we should go see a movie. We decided/planned on to go see Ice Age 3, but halfway down the road we changed our mind to see this other movie. Saw commercials/movie trailers for both and they both showed comedy and seemed okay. Except I assumed wrong! Got a text on my phone from Ben and I replied back telling about my day, watching this movie and whatever. Ben's like "get out of there, it’s not where God would want me be." I thought about it and ended up walking out and realise yeah, Ben's right and God's right, it’s not a choice that God would have wanted me to make. I felt horrible and angry with myself for choosing that movie. God was not happy and I deserved to be told I was doing wrong. Just like David, I prayed and owned up to my mistake and asked God to forgive me. We are not perfect, and we will make many choices in life that are not of God or for God, but when we know we’ve stumbled that is when we need to ask and make peace with God. Ask for forgiveness. Sometimes we get side tracked that we don't always realise at first what we did wrong until someone, like a good friend that God placed our lives to keep us accountable and tell us to "get out!" when they see what is wrong.

Isaiah 41:10 (New Living Translation) Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
Isaiah 41:10 clearly states it all and is self explanatory, God is there wherever you are and will be there for you always.
On the weekend we had rented the movie Bolt, and if you haven't seen it put it on your must see movie list, if you have awesome!! cuz you know how the movie goes and what I'm talking about! It's about a dog who's a super dog that makes movies. He protects his owner Penny from the villains. I don't want to give it all away for those who haven't seen the movie, but he gets separated from Penny and is determined to find her. Along the way he meets a cat and a hamster to help him find Penny.
Throughout the movie they become friends and the cat made a house for them to stay in out of cardboard boxes. The cat was happy and excited and thinking Bolt would stay, but he cant because he was on a mission to find his owner. In the same scene the cat tells how she feels about Bolt leaving. She was very upset with Bolt having to leave because the family she use to stay with walked out of her life when they had to move.
When your in school you tend to make a friend or two along the way every time i made a friend a year later or so they would move, and some other person would come around and id make another friend and the same thing would happen, they'd move away!. From gr.10 and on some friends that I've made stayed except most of them ended up being in different classes than i was. It irritated me because you build up a friendship and then you feel like its lost, you feel far away and forgotten or broken.
I could understand and feel what the cat was feeling when she was telling why friendship was important to her when she made a friend. At the same time while watching the movie I realize that Jesus will never leave us, He will always be there and will always strengthen us when we open our hearts to Him. |
